Students from the Strasbourg art school HEAR initiated a publication and exhibition based on the book The Grammar of Ornament by Owen Jones. The idea was to propose a contemporary view on the 1856 book which gathered ornaments from all continents and ages.
I proposed an immersive exploration with a new iteration of my previous project Sediment. A first algorithm extracted all images from the book, then it became a global texture at the crossroad between digital patterns and mineral sediments. The other exhibition guests were Na Kim, Fanette Mellier & Patrick Lindsay.
